We are currently raising and milking a breed of dairy goat called, La Mancha. They are the only dairy breed developed in North America, and the only goat breed with very small ears! La Mancha goats produce lots of rich, creamy milk. Goat milk is naturally homogenized which means the fat particles in the milk (cream) are evenly distributed throughout the milk unlike cow milk where the cream rises to the top. Though the taste and cream content can change throughout her lactation, milk that is processed and chilled property should never taste “goaty”. Our goats are fed enough browse, dairy supplement and alfalfa to keep them at a healthy weight.
